Microstructure Analysis

During microstructure analysis, prepared test pieces (ground/polished/etched) are examined under a microscope at a specific magnification. (e.g. from 20x to 500x magnification) This allows, for example, the grain boundaries (see IK test) to be examined or to check whether the microstructure has formed correctly during heat treatment of the sheet metal. This test falls into the category of destructive material testing.
