Square Steel
Square steel is the name given to semi-finished steel products that have a square cross-section. The width and thickness of the material are the same. Square steel is usually produced by hot rolling slabs. The DIN EN 10059 standard specifies the nominal dimensions, dimensional tolerances and shape tolerances that apply to hot-rolled square steel. The preferred dimensions for the edge length specified there are between 5 mm and 150 mm. Alternatively, square steel is cut from sheets. You can then specify the dimensions individually. If there are special requirements for the surface finish, the products are available as bright square steel. To achieve the required roughness, the surfaces are ground to a precise fit.
